
Nancy’s daughter, Sunny, grew up on Hilton Head via Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Sunny graduated from Hilton Head Prep (Sea Pines Academy) and continued on to Salem College in North Carolina. After graduating from Salem College, Sunny began her career as an interior designer and sales consultant with Jack Lenor Larsen in New York City. Sunny also completed graduate studies with Reynolda House Museum of American Art and Sotheby’s International Decorative Arts program in London. Sunny returned to Hilton Head to begin a family and launch a career working with major firms such as, Hilton Head Interiors, Plantation Interiors and Georgia Furniture and Interiors. She also served as owner and managing director of Montessori based preschool and child development center Carolina Day Academy (Cradle -N -All). She held leadership roles with Hilton Head Dance Theatre (President), International Interior Design Association (chapter President), Hilton Head Island School Council for the Arts and additional philanthropic organizations.
Sunny is enormously proud of her entire family, especially her two children who also grew up on Hilton Head. Hannah Rose, a graduate of Vanderbilt and Duke (Fuqua MBA), is working for the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation in New York City (and married to Josh) and John is an accomplished world class glass artist who attended University of South Carolina and is starting his family with Edwina, in Bluffton.
